Tom Corcoran first moved to Florida in 1970. He has been a disc jockey, bartender, AAA travel counselor, U. S. Navy officer, screenwriter, freelance photographer, automotive magazine editor, computer graphic artist, and journalist.

Corcoran’s photographs have appeared on seven Jimmy Buffett album covers. He co-wrote the Buffett hits, "Cuban Crime of Passion", and "Fins". His photos also have appeared on numerous book jackets, including those of Thomas McGuane ("An Outside Chance"), Winston Groom ("Forrest Gump"), and Florida novelists Les Standiford ("Black Mountain" and "Last Train to Paradise") and James W. Hall ("Hot Damn").

Tom's black-and-white photographs of Key West were displayed at the Key West Art and Historical Society's Custom House Museum in 2007. During the past three years he has returned to songwriting, collaborating with performer John Frinzi on the CD "Shoreline" and several songs to be included on Frinzi's next CD release.

As co-owner of The Ketch & Yawl Press, Corcoran has published twelve South Florida-related books including "Yesterday's Key West" by Stan Windhorn and Wright Langley, "Papa Hemingway in Key West" by James McLendon, "Undying Love" by Ben Harrison, "The Railroad That Died at Sea" by Pat Parks, and "The Young Wrecker" by Richard Meade Bache.

To keep his mind active between novels, Tom wrote the essay, "Jimmy with a Capital L" for the 32-page booklet included in each copy of Jimmy Buffett's April 2003 two-CD release, "Meet Me in Margaritaville".

Tom has contributed stories to three recent anthologies— "Florida Heat Wave", "Miami Noir" and "A Merry Band of Murderers".
